This project is part of the outreach program "Center for Study, Training, and Education: Community, Health, and Mental Health" (HCD Resolution No. 236/2013) and is carried out by Social Work students within the "Social Work in Local and Community Settings" course. Its objective is to create spaces for collective reflection on political participation and the historical processes linked to the dictatorship and post-dictatorship periods in Argentina.
Driven by the need to incorporate the voices and first-hand accounts of various social actors, the project organized discussion forums and debates that helped recover memories, highlight historical struggles, and strengthen critical thinking. These gatherings brought together university students, union representatives, activists, and high school students, fostering dialogue across diverse identities and experiences.
The initiative is grounded in a commitment to reconstructing collective memory and generating proposals that broaden the perspectives of the Social Work profession and the community at large. In this context, university outreach is conceived as a space for horizontal interaction, exchange, and the democratization of knowledge, integrating education, community engagement, and outreach activities. Furthermore, these spaces encourage reflection on social reality and its impact on individual and collective health.
